digg-ing america: vote for nobody

by Anthony Marenna | Libertarian  |  Comments (3)

A simple walk down a busy street is enough to reveal the pervasive lack of interest that is eating the nation alive, the very same apathy that has allowed the new lack of Starbucks a place at the forefront of the daily humbug.

a nose dive in oil

by Cynthia Flores | Libertarian  |  Comments (10)

On July 14, George W. Bush lifted the executive branch moratorium on off-shore drilling. Literally as he spoke, the price of a barrell of oil dropped $9.26. That’s a 6.3% nose dive without so much as a single drop of oil being added to the supply chain.

dear “machine,” thanks for the “rage” tickets

by Ian Schuldt | Libertarian  |  Comments (5)

I don’t know if I can think of a better way to spend a stimulus check from the federal government than to buy tickets to Rage Against the Machine. Yet, some liberals would point to this and say it’s a perfect example of why these tax breaks don’t help…

where’s new hampshire when you need it?

by Matthew Smock | Libertarian  |  Comments (0)

On July 1st, a new law went into effect in California, banning hand-held cellphone use while driving. The issues with this type of ban are many, including the fact that the only way to get to a “hands-free state” is by old-fashioned “hands-on dialing.”

evil is a superstition

by Mark Hunter Mulvey | Libertarian  |  Comments (13)

Currently, in the United States, terrorist insurgents in the Middle East are designated as “evil.” But the concept of evil conveniently ignores the fact that human beings are, by nature, rational creatures.

dear virginia, i want my money back

by Liz Newton | Libertarian  |  Comments (11)

Virginia taxpayers are giving the families of the Virginia Tech shooting victims $11 million. As a resident, I mourn for the loss felt by the families of those slain. As a taxpayer in Virginia, I am infuriated.

castro? check. hamas? check. chavez? check.

by Jon Chun | Libertarian  |  Comments (10)

I can only find one true difference between the two candidates: Obama cornered the market for political endorsements from leaders of oppressive governments and terrorist organizations the world over.

extreme suffrage

by Mark Hunter Mulvey | Libertarian  |  Comments (0)

A remarkable debate is currently taking place among Islamic extremists, prompting female jihadist-hopefuls to set down their munitions and talk things out a bit. The topic is whether or not women have the right to join al-Qaeda’s fight and have their suicide missions acknowledged as legitimate acts of terror for the cause.
