Two things of note happened last week. The first was that my mother bought some outdoor cushions for our lawn furniture. The second was that AC/DC made a deal regarding the distribution of its next album. Seemingly unrelated events, but they both involve Wal-Mart.
I saw a commercial the other day telling us that we can come together to solve our energy crisis, but the female narrator was so monotone and passive that I wasn’t sure if she was selling policy change or Ambien!
The recent headlines out of Gloucester, Mass. indicate 17 teenage girls agreed to get pregnant together. But this “pact” isn’t any more newsworthy than the pact I remember making as a kid at Girl Scout camp to not go to the outhouse at night alone.
There are few men in my life who have never disappointed me. In fact, I can only think of three: my dad, Ben & Jerry. So I can’t say I was surprised when Barack Obama announced his decision last week to turn down public financing for his presidential campaign.
Both John McCain and Barack Obama are raising funds like Jimmy Baker trying to open a religious-themed water park (only ethically), touring the countryside like rockers on the festival circuit, and vetting VP picks like seniors shopping for prom dresses. But they’re not doing their current job and it is time they both resign their Senate seats.
Obama supporters now have only McCain to deal with. Instead of using a new offense against McCain, I think Obama supporters should simply use the same playbook they so passionately employed against Senator Clinton. Mr. or Ms. Obama supporter, here are six steps to victory.
