“read my lips…” the sequel

Every horror movie franchise has sequels. Saw, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Evil Dead, even Scream. They all have sequels. I must say that I am hoping this particular sequel stays on the cutting room floor. Heaven forbid, it turns into a trilogy.
John McCain has had his fair share of blunders and verbal missteps. Stating that he would “veto every beer,” mixing up Iraq and Afghanistan, Somalia and Sudan, Germany and Russia, Sunnis and Shi’ites… the list goes on and on and on. Even the articulate Barack Obama has had trouble remembering exactly how many states are in the U.S.
Gaffes aside, McCain is apparently about to pull a Bush 41. Even though I was a child during the 1980s, I can still remember hearing “Read my lips, NO NEW TAXES.” Then, the new taxes came. My parents blamed the Democrats in Congress (being the dyed-in-the-wool Republicans that they are, bless them), but the fact remained that George H.W. Bush had not kept his promise to play hardball with Congress.
Now, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee is following in the footsteps of his forebears. After asserting time and again that he would not raise taxes and would keep the W tax cuts in place, McCain has decided that “nothing’s off of the table.” I realize that this is in response to questions regarding Social Security taxes, but the last I checked, Social Security taxes are still taxes.
Today, however, McCain is singing another tune by stating his opposition to fixing Social Security through a tax increase. Senator McCain, the Flip-Flop Express is now boarding, please ensure you have your ticket handy. At this rate, no one will be able to read McCain’s lips; he’s too busy trying not to bungle his next sound bite or flip-flop on more issues than his opponent.
Hopefully, “Read my lips…” the sequel will not be hitting America next January. I’d hate for it to have to compete with Oliver Stone’s upcoming horror movie “W.”

Social Security is a scam. The only thing that will keep me from voting for Obama is a statement from his camp about how we need to raise social security taxes.

It shocks me how selfish people can be. Liberals only want a fanatic liberal in office and republicans want a fanatic right this right that person in office. For a very long time, we have someone who stands right in the middle, cares for every single person in america through bipartisan policies and views. For a long time, we have someone who everyone can agree with one some issues. Everyone respects mccain. Why? because he is the only who crosses partisan lines to do whats best for EVERYONE for america, not just the poor, not just the middle class, not just the rich, but everyone. He doesnt stick to a “im a republian, i only have these choices to pick from” agenda. He will do whatever it takes to better america.
If you dont already know, I am probably as conservative as sean and O but I love mccain and cant wait for him to become the next president of the United States. Even though I disagree with him on some issues, i know he will do not just whats better for me, as a conservative, but whats better for America as a whole.
