McCain and Bush have both recently pushed for overturning the ban on offshore drilling. Obama, a man of the people who wants politicians to work together for the good of the people, disagrees with McCain and Bush because Democrats have to disagree with Republicans.
Virginia taxpayers are giving the families of the Virginia Tech shooting victims $11 million. As a resident, I mourn for the loss felt by the families of those slain. As a taxpayer in Virginia, I am infuriated.
All evidence points to the fact that Mrs. Obama is an accomplished, strong, intelligent, independent African-American woman of substance. As shown by recent incidents, being an outspoken, independent, African-American woman is clearly not working for her.
As gas prices steadily march past the $4.00 mark in many areas of the country, Bush has finally decided to allow for drilling throughout the United States and on the Outer-Continental Shelf (OCS) surrounding U.S. coastlines.
So, Barack is selling dreams in a time of sandy conflict and petroleum woes, it is true. Many cite a nebulous “lack of experience” as another setback to his campaign, despite the fact that our current president had 4 years of quality time in the executive branch when he was reelected to a dismal second term.
For the better part of a week, I have struggled to put into words the impact Tim Russert’s death has had on me and, more importantly, on journalism. Russert not only held his own against some of the greatest minds and biggest personalities in the political world, but he often handed it to them.
The way Barack Obama speaks about the magical change he is capable of bringing to politics, I fully expect his next endorsement to come from the Leprechan’s Union. He wants you to believe change comes by merely saying the magic words.
In one of my favorite TV shows, there is a running joke where the dad in the family teaches his children “lessons” by tricking them into believing that a man had his arm ripped off because he did something wrong. While you’d have to be one of the most despicable, psychotic people in the world to actually think this was good for your kids, apparently some of those people work at El Camino High School in Oceanside, CA.
A non-scientific Quick Vote poll on CNN.com brought the current fuel malady to the forefront of my mind. Granted, filling up my car last night for almost $63 had an effect as well.
