speeches are cheap, but hate speech will cost you

I know I’m not the only Republican who is upset that John McCain is the nominee for our party this election cycle. Not only has he opposed conservative legislation over the past eight years just so he could become the media darling, but he also considered leaving the party twice in the last decade, to say nothing of his near vice-presidential run in the 2004 campaign. Yes, you read that right. He almost got the nod for vice president four years ago - from John Kerry.
That upsets me. What’s more upsetting, though, is that despite nominating a very liberal senator for president, the Republicans will still be defamed by the very liberal media with the typical accusations of racism, sexism, bigotry, etc. It’s the same card the Democrat media has always played, for as long as anyone can remember. Republicans are racist because they oppose affirmative action (government-sponsored racism), sexist because they oppose feminism (culturally-sponsored reverse sexism) and bigoted because they oppose marriage and adoption for homosexuals (i.e. Republicans understand that it takes a mommy and a daddy to make a baby.)
Yes, the liberal media will still embrace whomever the Democrat nominee is, despite the horrendous divide that exists in that party nationwide, with one side clinging to Hillary Clinton and the other side fainting at the feet of Barack Obama. These two candidates, who have run a campaign based entirely on gender and race, are definitely neither sexist nor racist, but Republicans are.
Honestly, nothing could be further from the truth, and if you wanted but a few of numerous evidences to support this claim, you need only to look to the Supreme Court.
The Republican party appointed the first female Supreme Justice, Sandra Day O’Connor, and the Democrats opposed the decision. That’s because Republicans are sexist and Democrats aren’t. After O’Connor’s twenty-four year career she retired, and the Republican party replaced her with Samuel Alito, the second Italian-American on the Supreme Court. Who was the first? Antonin Scalia. Who nominated him? The Republicans. Who opposed him? The Democrats. They also opposed the nomination of Clarence Thomas, the second black American to serve on the Supreme Court. First woman… first Italian… second Italian… second black… man, those Republicans really are a bunch of racist, sexist pigs.
If only we could adopt the loving attitude of such iconic, race-neutral figures as Louis “Bush Bombed the Blacks” Farrakhan, or Jeremiah “God D*** America” Wright or Jesse “We Need to Educate Prisoners” Jackson, or Al “Real God-fearers Will Vote Against the Mormon” Sharpton, maybe the liberal media would accept us and give our candidate some love too. No, wait, I didn’t go far enough: pleasing the aforementioned Rat Pack of Anti-American Hate-mongers won’t cut it unless I also bow before the Holy Trinity of Gender Transcendants, namely Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi and Ruth Bader Ginsberg. But really, though the unflinching support of mainstream media would be great, I could never stomach a political marriage to those three harpies. I think I’ll cut my losses and keep voting Republican.
After all, I prefer to win, and no matter how polite Obama and Hillary are in their campaign speeches, their personal attacks on each other as they vie for their party’s nomination show their true character. Between the hate-riddled remarks from Obama’s pastor and the plentitude of blood-curdling screams we’ve heard from Hillary over the years, one simple fact remains undeniable: speech is free, but hate speech will cost you - unless you’re a Democrat.
But by all means, keep it up liberals. A rational electorate will always know who the real bigots are.
